Members - Danika Jayawardena

Danika started painting at age eight under the guidance of her artist father and has also published a few of her poems. She continued her visual art studies with Four Cats Studio in Oakville, Canada.

Having lived in Jamaica and Canada and travelled in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean and North America, her travels have informed and broadened her artwork. In 2011, Danika exhibited her paintings at a unique art exhibition themed: '3 Generations II' at the Colombo Public Library in Sri Lanka. Ten members of Danika's family exhibited 90 paintings to celebrate the 90th birthday of her paternal grandfather who was an award-winning author, dramatist, actor, poet, and visual artist.

Her inspiration for her recent paintings has been her deep love for her mother who passed away at a young age. Art is embedded within Danika and she has turned to art therapy to deal with this loss.
