ROSE FINNIGAN: Watercolour, Pastel & Mixed Media Artist

Since moving to Niagara on the Lake in August of 1999, Rose studied under various Niagara Region and International Artists. As well, she attended workshops at both the Haliburton School of the Arts and the Chautauqua Institute in Chautauqua, NY.

Through the years she participated in numerous Niagara Region group shows, indoors as well as out. In 2006 and 2008 she also took part in the Niagara on the Lake Studio Tours sponsored by the NOTL Pumphouse. She held two solo shows: one in the Niagara on the Lake Library in November, 2007 and one in the Joseph Brandt Memorial Hospital in Burlington, On, in June, 2008. In 2009 she participated in both the Niagara on the Lake Artists in the Park Show and The Passion Arts Show.

In the fall of 2005 her painting Yangtze River won a “runner up” award in the Pelham Art Club’s juried show.

She earned a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, a Teaching Degree from the University of Toronto, a M.Sc. from Niagara University in Lewiston, N.Y. and a Diplome from the Sorbonne in Paris, France.

Her other interests consist of writing fiction, photography, travelling and reading.
