Since I was young I was surrounded by art, my
mother was a choreographer and my father loved to draw. My father
would sit with me and draw animals with incredible colours, nothing
like the colours found in nature. As I grew, I wanted to discover
the world and myself, so I traveled all over the world and I found
that nature was beautiful in its diversity and that human kind was
also beautiful in its diversity.
While raising my two children and working to
live, I was in and out of the creative process and did my art when
time permitted. I believe that, because I am a part of this
universe, I need to transform what I receive from it into my own
language. What I paint comes from inside of me, is a state of soul.
Painting, for me, brings me in touch with all the forces of nature,
some may call it God.....it is almost like a prayer.
Through colours and the movement of my strokes I
try to give feelings, emotions and room for the imagination of the
viewers for their own interpretation. Spiritual, Zen, organic,
feminine, and surreal are some of the things people have said about
my paintings. I prefer not to label them but to let them flow and
for this reason I don't like to give a title to my paintings. I do
not want to interfere with the perception or interpretation of the
viewers. |
