Ed Telenko’s
passion for colour is reflected in each of the many different visual
art media he employs and is, some say, dazzling and even seems to
pulsate on some very textured grounds in much of his works. Whether
watercolours, oils, acrylics, colour pencils, pastels or markers,
colour radiates. His style is best described as lyrical surrealism
and reflects an East Asian influence as well as artists such as J.M.W.
Tuner, Wassily Kadinski, Franz Marc and Kasimir Malevich. He
graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design with a diploma
in Drawing and Painting and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. As an
art instructor he assists adults and children develop their drawing
and painting skills at his Academy which conducts classes at the St.
Catharines Folk Arts and Multicultural centre in St. Catharines and
Niagara College in Welland.
