Currently the St. Catharines Art Association activities involve an exhibition at the Pen Centre, two non-juried shows each year at the Centennial Library (Spring and Winter) and other locations where our members display and sell their work.
Our meetings are varied and offer lectures, demonstrations, workshops, critique nights, together with a social period. Meetings, open to the public, are held the fourth Tuesday of every month, September through June (except December) at the Centennial Library in St. Catharines beginning at 7:30 p.m.

SCAA Meeting at Centennial Library in St Catharines at 7:30 p.m. Floyd Elzinga - Metal Artist Floyd Elzinga, from Beamsville, is our guest this month. His art is generally conceptual based and environmentally influenced. It often reflects his life on a dairy farm. It also shoes a skepticism and critique of the art world. With a hint of humour to some of his pieces, he challenges himself and the viewer to be stewards of the earth. Floyd is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design where he completed a Bachelor of Fine Art with a major in Sculpture and minor in Art History. Since graduating from university, Floyd has continued to make sculptures and objects of artistic and conceptual significance. |

McMichael Art Gallery with John Leonard The Pelham Art Association is arranging a bus trip to the McMichael Art Gallery with John Leonard on Saturday, November 18, 2006. The fee of $50.00 includes transportation, entry into the Gallery and an instruction tour with John Leonard. The focus is the work of the Group of Seven; they broke the rules for composition, yet their pieces work. SCAA Meeting at Centennial Library in St Catharines Johannes Vloothius Joe specializes in Oils, Watercolours and Acrylics. He is a Fine Art Instructor of representational landscapes. Joe is an art instructor for Dundas Valley School of Art and Gallery Streetsville in Mississauga. Joe has had exhibitions of his work at St. Petersburg, Russia, Sao Paolo, Brazil, The National Watercolour Museum, Mexico City, Museum of Art, Arona, Italy as well as numerous art galleries here and abroad.
